Criteria for membership of IPC
IPC membership is divided into the following classes:
- Full Members;
- Associate Members;
- Observer Members; and
- Honorary Members.
Full Member
A Full Member is an organisations which has in place a personnel certification scheme which has been certified, by an accreditation body which is a member of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) or by an accreditation body member of a regional member of IAF, as meeting the requirements of ISO/IEC 17024:2003 and approved IPC criteria and which is admitted as a Member under clause 12 of the IPC Constitution.
Existing IATCA members can remain as full members until 30 September 2009 which is the end of transition period to new IPC competence based certification criteria.
Associate Member
Associate Member is:
- a personnel certification body which is not yet accredited as required for Full Membership,;
- an organisation that provides training or examination of competencies defined by IPC for a personnel certification scheme;
- an industry association; and
- other interested party
which is admitted as an Associate Member under clause 12 of the IPC Constitution.
Observer Member
Observer Member is an organisation which is interested in the activities of IPC. Observer Members may be admitted as a non-voting Member under Clause 12 of the IPC Constitution, for a maximum of two years, for an annual subscription not exceeding one third of the annual subscription for a Full Member.
Honorary Members
Honorary Member is an organisation, including a member of IAF, that may be admitted as a non-voting Member under Clause 12 of the IPC Constitution and not be required to pay a joining fee or annual subscription.
Application for membership
Applications for Membership must:
- be in writing;
- set out the applicant's full name and address,
- be signed by the applicant him/herself or a duly authorised officer of the applicant;
- be in the form set out in Appendix 1 of the IPC Constitution;
- be lodged with the Secretary of the Company; and
- enclose the entrance fee (if applicable).
In the event that a Board meeting is not scheduled to be held within one calendar month of receipt of the application, a resolution will be forwarded for consideration of the Board without a meeting being held, in accordance with clause 33.5 of the IPC Constitution.
The Board may accept or reject any Application without assigning any reason.
The Secretary must notify the applicant of the outcome of its Application.
The Secretary must refund the entrance fee (if applicable) to each unsuccessful applicant.
